South Carolina Farm to School - Connecting Schools Directly with farmers

South Carolina Farm to School Link

Certified SC Cafeteria is a state-funded program coordinated by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture to bring more South Carolina grown food into public school cafeterias across our state. With an annual investment of $1 million, the program supports schools in purchasing fresh, local produce while strengthening South Carolina farms and communities.

Together, we can keep more dollars in South Carolina and celebrate the vital role our farmers and school nutrition professionals play in building stronger communities.

Applications for the Spring 2026 Certified SC Cafeteria program closed on November 15, 2025. We look forward to the many ways this program will impact students, farmers, and cafeterias around the state of South Carolina!

Local farmers will need to register with the SC Department of Agriculture and create a profile, understand the requirements of USDA safety standards for foods supplied to school cafeterias, and hopefully become a produce supplier for our schools.
