Recently we celebrated Montessori week at MPS. Montessori lessons for primary school focus on five key areas of study: practical life, sensorial, math, language and culture. Children learn through repetition and practice, and progress at their own pace.

HPE 4th graders have been learning about procedural texts and one of the stories they read was on making butter. Teachers brought the lesson to life by having students follow the procedure to make their own butter!
Belton Elementary School teachers had the privilege to participate in professional development from Solution Tree coach, Kim Nichols. Mrs. Nichols, a former administrator and district office staff from Georgia, has visited Belton Elementary several times this year. As a Solution Tree coach, she has been able to help the teachers grow in their learning to ensure all students learn at high levels.

Yesterday afternoon, our district’s talented young artists took center stage at the Spring Arts Showcase opening reception at the Belton Center for the Arts! With nearly 400 families and community members in attendance, the evening was filled with creativity, inspiration, and celebration of student artistry from across our schools.
The exhibit features a stunning collection of artwork from students of all ages, showcasing their hard work and artistic expression. If you missed the reception, don’t worry—the artwork will be on display until March 21! Be sure to stop by and support our amazing student artists.
A huge thank you to our art educators, students, families, and the community for making this event such a success!

National FFA Week Proclamation
The National FFA Week Proclamation is an official statement that honors FFA and its impact on students and agriculture. It recognizes how FFA helps young people become leaders and grow careers in farming and related fields. In 1948, the National FFA Board of Directors designated National FFA Week as a celebration of George Washington’s legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. Each year, National FFA Week coincides with the week of his birthday. This year’s National FFA Week is designated to run from Saturday, February 15th through Saturday, February 22nd
FFA chapters across the country celebrate this significant event through many local, state, and national events. Locally, the BHP FFA chapter will be conducting a canned food drive, speaking with state legislators in Columbia, visiting local elementary schools, and hosting a members’ appreciation cookout among other things.
Three Chapter officers (Lauren Phillips, Matthew Seawright, and Selah Elgin) from BHP FFA presented Mr. Johns with a National FFA Week Proclamation document to declare the week of February 15th – February 22nd as National FFA Week here in Anderson School District Two.
