Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day!
April 28 is a day set aside to honor the incredible men and women who transport our students safely each day. Becoming a school bus driver is no small task—it requires weeks of training, earning a CDL, and completing additional certifications that can take up to three months. This dedication proves that our drivers are not only skilled, but true professionals. In Anderson 2, our bus drivers are more than coworkers—they’re a family. Together, they share the common goal of keeping students safe and on time. Their day starts before sunrise, often before 6:00 AM, and doesn’t end until after 5:00 PM. Through freezing mornings, sweltering afternoons, and long hours, they remain committed to their routes, their buses, and—most importantly—our children.
Driving a 16-ton school bus through heavy traffic is no easy job. That’s why one of the best ways we can show appreciation is by reminding students to behave respectfully on the bus and by ensuring all drivers on the road stop when buses do. To our Anderson 2 bus drivers: thank you for your hard work, professionalism, and unwavering care. You truly keep our schools moving, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
