A huge shout out to our BHPHS Band Booster parents, John Michael Brock and our Band Staff, as well as our awesome BHPHS Band Students. This past Saturday BHPHS hosted the 3A Upper State Championship. The tremendous hard work and preparation of our band program made this a tremendous event. Thank you for your hard work, parents, band staff, and students!

Mrs. Sauceman's class at Belton Middle School had a special visit this morning from Ula, a therapy dog. Ula is a 9 year old German Shepherd and has been working as a service and therapy dog her entire life. Her handlers, Joan and Mark Parker from Belton, take Ula on school visits to teach students character lessons on discipline and hard work, to respect therapy dogs in public, and to highlight careers in working with therapy animals.
In appreciation for the hard work and endless days our area farmers work to raise their crops and livestock, BHP students enjoyed a meal of farm favorites for National We Love Our Farmer’s Day.
We are so thankful for our community members that are serving as mentors in our after school programs at BMS and HPMS. This volunteer group meets with students monthly and focuses on life skills. Topics include learning how to change a tire, jump start a car, and the importance of first impressions. Thank you mentors!
Anderson Two Board of Trustees unanimously adopted the 2023-2024 Academic Calendar. The first day of school for students will be Thursday, August 3.
Governor Henry McMaster has proclaimed Earthquake Preparedness Week for 2022 to be observed October 16-20 in South Carolina. The South Carolina Emergency Management Division encourages everyone to take this opportunity to learn about our state’s seismic fault system and how best to prepare for earthquakes. Highlights of the week will be the launch of a new earthquake preparedness resource for South Carolina and the Great Southeast ShakeOut on Thursday, October 20 at 10:20 a.m. More than 1.92 million people across eight states and the District of Columbia will take part in the Great Southeast ShakeOut earthquake safety drill.

The Anderson School District Two Board of Trustees approved Monday night to raise substitute pay! Rates: Non-certified substitutes $75/day and Certified substitutes $90/day. Next year (2023-2024) ASD2 will be offering a 3K/4K Tuition-Based Preschool Program in both Honea Path (HPES) and Belton (MPS).
This is a one of a kind preparatory program open for our entire community. The purpose for this program is to offer a full-day quality preschool experience that will equip these students with essential and foundational academic skills. The cost of the program will be $400/Month for 10 months (August-May). This equates to $20 per day for a full-day preparatory program led by certified teachers. There will also be an after-care program that will extend to 5:00PM for an additional $100/Month. (Slots are limited.)
